WELCOME! Thank you for visiting My site!

You’re probably wondering what I’m all about. Well take a read below and check out my photos by pressing the “SHOW” button in your top left corner!

There is something special about being able to capture a  moment… Time is something you can’t get back once it’s gone but something people cherish.. You should capture the moments and freeze them in time to be able to revisit the smiles anytime you want.. Moments are fleeting, pictures are forever… That’s why I always say;

Take A Picture, It Lasts Longer

Photos mean so much to a family and it means so much to me to be able to create something beautiful that you will be able to enjoy for generations to come.

I like to get to know my clients and develop friendships with them as I follow and document the milestones in their lives.. It means a lot to me when someone chooses me as their “go-to” photographer, to me that’s such a compliment and it says that they trust me to capture their memories to look back on and appreciate for years to come.

If you have a milestone approaching and would like to inquire about booking a session please feel free to contact me at jxoPHOTOGARPHY@live.ca

jxo PHOTOGRAPHY -THE photographer

Meet Jax. The “j” in jxo. I have always been artistic, my mom always tells me this story about once how I drew a horse, thought it was a cow but wrote mom on the paper. When I was younger it was sketching and artistic drawings, I got a little older and writing and then dancing became my forms of artistic expression.. Then I picked up a camera and the way I viewed the world changed..

Originally I started just taking pictures of my baby, my friends, and family but people started to like what I was doing and we asking me to photograph their families etc. I decided to make sure I knew what I was doing I better go take some courses. So I took some photography courses at Mohawk College, and some workshops as well as belong to an online learning website to help further enhance and develop my skills. I made the leap to working professionally as a photographer in 2012.

Moments happen fast, they’re fleeting and you can never get them back. When you’re selecting a photographer, make sure it’s the RIGHT photographer for you, a good rapport and comfort level is important, make sure to pick a photographer who aligns best with you and the look you’re trying to achieve.

jxo Photography Basics and Frequently Asked Questions

Where are you located?

Stoney Creek Mountain, Ontario

Do you shoot your sessions in a studio?

I don’t have a “studio”, I shoot on location. You can expect things to be relaxed, and fun while we shoot. I occasionally use a studio space for mini and newborn session or shoot in my home.

Can I bring my friends or family?

My home space is not adequate for multiple guests when studio equipment is set up, so typically my rule of thumb is only those to be photographed or those necessary to aid in the care of children being photographed should come on the session date. Even if you’re shooting outdoors, the same rule should still apply as I find the more my clients can focus on me and not an audience the better the results and the happier the client. Sometimes performing in front of an audience can be distracting and you can end up with forced looking, overly-posed photos. Also, for newborn shoots that will involve an older sibling; unless it’s impossible, I recommend that the sibling shots be at the end of the session and that the older sibling (more especially if they are under 5), be brought to studio at that time to minimize noises and distractions as much as possible. Newborn shots are best when baby is asleep!

How long until I receive my photos?

This all depends on the time of year and my availability. I am typically fairly fast with post processing of photos but I don’t like to rush the final product. In typical situations, usually up to 2 weeks, in busier seasons up to 4 weeks. Timelines on special orders such as photo books and canvases will vary based on vendor guidelines and delivery schedules.

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

The best time to book a newborn session is always within the first 10 days. Sometimes this time frame is not possible, and I do offer sessions for up to 4 weeks. Babies can vary on their range of motion and flexibility the older they get which means that they less easily the squeeze into those adorable poses. The sooner the better is the best rule for this!
